Vendakka Mezhukkupuratti/Vendakka Upperi(Okra 0r Bhindi ) Side dish for Rice

Vendakka Mezhukkupuratti/Vendakka Upperi(Okra 0r Bhindi ) Recipe:






Ingredients

Ladies finger/Vendakka/Okra - 1 lb
Shallots - 10 nos (chopped)
Green chilies - 1 tsp (finely chopped)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Kashmeri chilly- 1 tsp
Curry leaves-plenty
Salt-to taste
Coconut Oil-3tsp

Method of Preparation:

1.Wash and drain Okra and cut off both the ends and then chop it to medium size pieces.



2.Heat oil in a pan, Add Shallots and curry leaves and saute till soft. 



3.Then add the chopped okra pieces, and saute till the stickiness goes off. Cover and cook 2 to 3 minutes in a low flame.





4.After 3 minutes open the lid and add turmeric, chili powder and required salt. Saute and mix.When raw smell goes.




5.Spread okra in the pan and fry in a high flame.When its look light brown and fry in texture, Switch off the heat.



                    
                    Serve okra stir fry with  rice and Curry.
