Meen Pollichathu (Avoli /Pomfret fry ) Recipe


Ingredients

Avoli fish: 3 nos
Onion /Shallots: 1 Cup
Ginger/Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Green Chilly:2 nos
Tomato: 1/2 cup (Chopped)
Red Chilly Powder: 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Fennel seed - 1 tsp
Pepper Powder: 1 tsp
Coconut oil : 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Lemon juice- 1 tsp
Curry Leaves
Banana Leaf
                         

Method of Preparation:

1. Marinate the fish with  red chilly,turmeric, garam masala ,ginger garlic paste and salt Keep aside for 30 mints.



2.Add  coconut oil to a pan and fry the fish for about 5 minutes on both sides.




3.Remove fish on to a plate and to the same pan add chopped ginger and garlic and saute for about 5 minutes.




4.Then add Onion  and saute till for when its turns brown color.



5.Reduce the flame and add  chilly powder, turmeric powder, , pepper powder,Garam masala and salt Saute for 5 mints.
6.Now add chopped tomato and  cook well.
7.Put some of this masala on the banana leaf and Place the fish on top of it Now put some more of the masala mix on top, spread well and fold the banana leaf.





 8.Fold the banana leaf to parcel and  wrap it.


9.Then In a medium flame, fry the parcel on both sides when the banana leaf till brown.
