Kerala Style Chicken Cutlet Recipe





Ingredients:

Chicken (boneless)- 1 lb
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Fennel powder- 1 tsp
Garam Masala- 1 tsp
Salt- to taste
Potatoes boiled and mashed - 2
Onion -  1 /2 cup ( finely chopped)
Ginger Garlic paste- 1 tbsp
Green chilies- 3 (finely chopped)
Oil- 1 tbsp
Cilantro chopped-1/4 cup
Salt-to taste

For Frying Cutlets:

Eggs beaten - 1
Bread crumbs plain-1 cup (I used fresh Bread crumbs)
Oil- enough for frying

Method of Preparation:

1.Cook the potatoes in pressure cooker in 1 whistle. peel and mash it. Keep it aside.


2.wash and Cut the chicken into small pieces .Cook the chicken along with turmeric powder,pepper and salt and  water cook covered in a saucepan in a medium flame.
3.When done  drain and keep aside to cool. Chope the chicken and keep aside .



4.Heat a oil in a pan add Add onions,ginger garlic,green chilies and salt and saute till translucent.


5.Then add turmeric powder,pepper powder, garam masala, saute for a few minutes.


6.Add the boiled, mashed up potatoes and mix everything well.


7.Now add the cooked and shredded meat, combine well.


8.Finally, add cilantro, and fennel seed give it a mix.


9.Remove from the heat, let the mixture cool down.
10.Make medium sized balls out of this mixture, flatten it in between the palm of your hands, keep aside in 15 mints.


11.Beat the eggs using a fork. 
12.Use dry or leftover bread. break the bread into 3-4 pieces and blend it in a mixer or blender or food processor until coarse.


 13.Spread the bread crumbs on a plate.
14.Dip each cutlet ball in the egg first and then evenly coat it with the bread crumbs.





15.Deep fry the cutlets in oil until golden brown.




                    Serve along with Tomato ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce
